The Building Contractors Association (BCA) originated in 1933 to represent prominent commercial construction firms in New York City. The Association has prospered and served its members and the construction industry throughout the years. In 1974, the BCA merged with a Long Island based contractor's association. This merger created the largest individual trade association in the metropolitan area, representing commercial building firms. The BCA's geographic range now stretches from the eastern tip of Long Island to the Hudson River to the county of Westchester.

The membership of the Building Contractors Association numbers approximately 170 construction companies. These firms range from Construction Managers and General Contractors to Sub-Contractors. The projects these contractors perform encompass every aspect of the construction process. These include high-rise office buildings, residential structures, hospitals and schools. In addition, BCA members have extensive experience in the fields of restoration, renovation, alteration and tenant changes. Our membership performs work in both the public and private sectors of the construction industry.

The Building Contractors Association membership is comprised of firms who are recognized leaders in the New York Construction Industry, and have been for years. 40 % of the BCA membership have been in business for over 50 years and 30 % have been performing construction for over 75 years.
