The Building Contractors Association (BCA), has established the following committees for the benefit of the association and its members. Committee members serve at the invitation of the BCA President.
MEMBER RELATIONS COMMITTEES
Investigates and reviews all membership applications and submits findings and recommendations to the BCA Board of Directors. This committee oversees the various BCA member services programs.
GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS COMMITTEES
Monitors proposed national, state and local legislation affecting the business interest of our members and the construction industry at large. This committee makes recommendations for any actions the Board of Directors should employ regarding legislative and regulatory proposals.
LABOR RELATIONS COMMITTEES
Acts on behalf of the Association in the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements entered between the BCA and the various Labor Unions recognized by the Association. This committee meets with Union representatives to attempt to maintain good labor-management relations.
MINORITY AND WOMEN OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE COMMITTEES
Acts on behalf of the Association to address MWBE-related issues and governmental programs. This committee makes recommendations for any actions the Board should employ and develops information to educate MWBE members regarding certification issues.
INDUSTRY RELATIONS COMMITTEES
Maintains liaison with Architects, Engineers, Owners, and other construction trade associations so that any problems affecting our members and the building industry can be harmoniously resolved.
SAFETY COMMITTEES
Promotes safe construction operations to provide protection for construction workers and the general public, through training, education and accident prevention programs. This committee works to maintain contact with governmental agencies and all legislative and regulatory safety-related mandates.
POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEES
Responsible for the determining of which state, local or national legislators or candidates the Association should support or oppose and the amount of appropriate financial support to be given.
